Mickey's Good Deed

This short, released in 1932, is one of my all-time favorite Mickey Mouse cartoons. Here is the story, as it was printed in the December 1933 dairy premium Mickey Mouse Magazine:

The image that follows is a production animation drawing from the film of Mickey as Santa Claus. The piece sold in the November 2007 Heritage auction for only $328.63, a steal in my books. This scene takes place after Mickey delivers presents to the poor family, after selling Pluto to the spoiled, rich, sadistic brat earlier in the film.

Here is a screen print Michael Sporn did on his site of the same scene. Back in December 2006 Michael pulled screen shots from the short and matched the sequences up with the animator responsible for that particular scene. To see more, click on this link.
